Your Boudoir Photoshoot checklist begins here:

The Hair & Makeup Experience

Professional hair and makeup styling are fully included in your booking. Our expert artists specialize in camera-ready techniques that enhance your natural features and ensure your look lasts throughout the entire shoot.

  • Timing: Styling takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes before your camera time. Please arrive exactly on time so we do not have to rush your luxury experience.

  • Preparation: Arrive with a clean, moisturized face (no makeup) and completely dry hair. Avoid using heavy conditioners, flat irons, or oils the morning of the shoot, as they make it harder for hair to hold a curl.

  • Inspiration: Bring 2–3 reference photos on your phone. Whether you want soft and romantic, smoky and sultry, or bold and vintage, your stylist will customize the look to your comfort level.

Your Hype Person Policy

We want you to feel completely safe and supported during your session. You are welcome to bring one trusted friend, family member or partner to act as your ultimate backstage hype person.

  • Their Role: Your guest is there to pump up your confidence, help pass you props, laugh with you, and help you select outfits.

  • Studio Etiquette: To keep the focus entirely on you, we ask that your guest remain in the areas behind the photographer. Cell phone photography, behind-the-scenes videos, and FaceTime calls are strictly prohibited during the active photoshoot to maintain total privacy.

The Step-by-Step Preparation Timeline for your Boudoir Photoshoot Checklist

1 to 2 Weeks Before: Foundation & Styling

  • Finalize Wardrobe: Try on every outfit, including shoes, jewelry, and other accessories. Walk around in them to ensure a perfect, comfortable fit.

  • Freeze Skincare: Do not introduce new facial products, peels, or intense facials. Stick to your proven routine to prevent unexpected breakouts or allergic reactions.

  • Grooming Appointments: Schedule hair trims, root touch-ups, brow shaping, or body waxing now. This gives any skin redness or irritation plenty of time to fade.

  • Find Your Vibe: Browse our portfolio or create a private Pinterest board. Save poses or lighting styles that speak to you so you can show your photographer.

3 to 4 Days Before: Hydration & Glow

  • Hydrate Constantly: Double your daily water intake. Hydrated skin looks plumper on camera, and it prevents your lips from looking chapped or dry.

  • Exfoliate Gently: Scrub your body with a gentle exfoliant to remove dead skin cells. Pay extra attention to elbows, knees, and ankles.

  • The Golden Glow (Optional): If you are getting a professional spray tan, schedule it 2 to 3 days before your shoot. This allows the tan to settle, look natural, and wash off any initial guide color. Avoid cheap self-tanners, which can look orange or patchy on camera.

  • Pack Your Bag: Gather your lingerie, shoes, accessories, and any sentimental items (like a partner’s button-down shirt or uniform jacket). Keep them organized in a dedicated garment bag.

1 Day Before: The Finishing Touches

  • Confirm Your Guest: Double-check travel arrangements with your hype person if they are joining you.

  • Steam Your Outfits: Wrinkles show up clearly under studio lights. Steam or iron your lace, silk, and robes, then hang them up immediately.

  • Shave Mindfully: If you choose to shave, do it the night before using a fresh razor and plenty of moisturizing cream to avoid red razor bumps.

  • Wash Your Hair: Wash hair the night before so it is completely dry by morning. Dirty or damp hair struggles to hold the volume needed for camera-ready styling.

  • Rest Up: Aim for a solid 8 hours of sleep to minimize under-eye puffiness and keep your energy high.

Day of the Shoot: It's Show Time!

  • Naked-Faced Arrival: Show up with a completely clean face. Apply only a lightweight moisturizer.

  • Bone-Dry Hair: Ensure your hair is completely dry. Do not apply heavy styling products or use a straightener.

  • Wear Loose Clothing: This is crucial. Wear a loose button-down shirt, zip-up hoodie, or a loose dress with sweatpants. Do not wear a bra, tight underwear, or socks to the studio. Tight clothing leaves red indentations on your skin that take hours to fade.

  • Eat a Light Meal: Do not skip breakfast or lunch. Eat a protein-rich snack before arriving so your energy stays high without making you feel bloated.

  • Bring Your Playlist: Feel free to cue up your favorite Spotify playlist on your phone. We love blasting your favorite music to set the mood.
